Health Foods & Brands, Part 1

Hello and welcome to Blogs by Aevum! I will share with you some of the health foods I am using in my daily approach to gut-healing nutrition. As many clients of mine trial eliminating inflammatory foods such as cow’s milk and refined sugars, wheat, and nutritionally deplete substitutes, these are some items one can experiment with to feed the microbiome and support homeostasis.

Ghee by 4th 7 Heart. Ghee is clarified butter that removes lactose and leaves good fats. This brand uses grass-fed dairy cows.

Flax Milk is dairy free, carageenan free with 0 grams of sugar. The Good Karma brand is cold-pressed and organic.

The two above products (ghee, flax milk) are what I have subbed in for traditional dairy derived butter and cow’s milk half&half, and heavy cream. The literature advises that we never, ever use margarine or really most vegetable oils. Where possible, coconut oil and coconut milk are the superior forms of “dairy” due to the presence of medium chain triglycerides i.e. lauric acid which has anti-viral properties. The next several images illustrate healthy carbohydrate and fiber containing prebiotic foods that will feed the bacteria in your gut that had gotten used to wheat and gluten containing products. According to experts, 1 tbsp a day is all it may take eaten before a nutritious meal to support the integrity of the microenvironment that is the intestinal mucosa.

Lotus Foods Rice Ramen

Lotus Foods Rice Ramen Red Miso Soup is a fantastic substitute for the mainstream crave-worthy ramen that contains the cheapest gluten and MSG. Miso & Kimchi (Jongga) are prebiotics that have been used for centuries for their life-giving properties.

Another ancient option is fermented cabbage commonly known as sauerkraut. Eden brand is double certified organic and only contains 4 ingredients; cabbage, water, sea salt, & lactic acid.
